The Liberators finished the regular season with a 3-0 win over Lincoln. Jake Condren, Bradley Stillwagon and Carlo Frasseto scored for the Liberators. Matt Magana recorded two assists. The Liberators improve their record to 17-7. Next up is the real season…….districts! Bolivar will play Aurora/Log-Rog winner Saturday morning @ 10:00am.
JV concluded thier season with a 2-1 loss against a mostly varsity Lincoln team. Nick Preston scored on a pentalty kick for the Liberators. Bolivar jv recorded ended at 9-6 which ties a record for most jv wins in a season.
Matt Magana (asst. by Bradley Stillwagon) scored the first goal in the first half. He fired a shot from 18 yards out, that took a skip of the turf and past the keeper. In the second half, Bradley would connect on a header shot off a throw from Matt to give the Liberators a nice win over class 3 Ozark. Great job fellas coming out on this night and stepping it up for Ozark on the turf! Bolivar improves thier record to 16-7. P.S. Nice save on the pk by Dale Baker! What a uplifting play for our team after that dive in the box!

The Liberators defeated Clinton 3-0 tonight to move thier record to 15-7. The Liberators opened up the “senior night” game by starting all 10 seniors for the first time this season. Bolivar would move the ball around and create opportunties, but struggle to score early in the game. Finally in the 25th minute, senior defender Landon Grider, scored his first varsity goal by out working two defenders in the box and then pushing the ball past the diving keeper. Bradley Stillwagon would put the Liberators up 2-0 when he recieved a ball off a corner kick. He shot the ball and it bounced off Jake Condren’s chest. The deflection came right back to him and he headed the ball into the goal. In the second half, Matt Magana would connect with Kyle Shoemaker who made a backside run and finished the one-time shot. The Liberators would get numerous balls into the box, but those seniors who were trying to get thier first goals just could not get thier shots and opportunities to go into the goal. Bolivar has now won at least 15 games the past five seasons.
In jv action, Garet West got the lone goal of the night in the second half to improve the Liberator jv team to a 9-4 record. Conner Stillwagon had the shutout in goal.
Monett would open the scoring in the 5th minute when a ball was cleared to the middle of the field (should never happen boys). A hard charging Monett midfielder gathered the ball and shot from the 18 to give the Cubs the early lead. The Liberators would tie the game in the 10th minute when freshman Mitchell Waters kept a loose ball in the box alive and was able to get it past two sliding defenders and the keeper. Five minutes later Bradley Stillwagon would connect on a ball from Matt Magana to give the Liberators the winnng goal. Monett would attack hard in the second half and send the house late, but goalie Dale Baker stepped up big and made three great saves to preserve the win for Bolivar. Sorry for the brief report….it is a late night. Bolivar improves their record to 14-7 and is undefeated against district opponenets this season.
In jv action, Sam Wall scored the lone goal late in the second half to give the Liberators the 1-0 win. Bolivar improves their record to 8-4.
Brutally honest: ugliest performance of the year for the Liberators. Goals scored by Matt Magana and Jake Condren (2). Not much else to say. Bolivar improves their record to 13-7.
In jv action, the Liberators improved their record to 7-4 with a 7-0 win! Goals by Tim Armstrong (2), Clifford Boydstun, Branden Roberts, Caleb McDaniel, Jordan Stanton and Sam Wall. Jordan Stanton and Conner Stillwagon combine for the shutout in goal.
Let’s get back into it mentally boys as we prepare for the BIGGEST game of the season Monday at Monett. #1 seed may be on the line. See you Sunday @ 4:00 (varsity only).
For the second night in a row, the Liberators found themselves in a tough battle that went into overtime. Catholic got on the board first in the 11th minute when #22 beat two defenders and passed to an open #? who shot the ball past the keeper. The Liberators did not hang their head and let down. Instead, they played with more desire and enthusiasm and attacked hard, but just could not get a goal. In the second half, you could see the fatigue start to set in as the Liberators played hard, but had more difficulty executing on their passes and runs and were forced to play more defensive. Bolivar kept shutting down the Catholic attack and keeper Dale Baker had a couple of nice saves to keep the Liberators in the game. The Liberators continued to battle and in the 70th minute Carlo Frasseto was contacted in the box for the foul. Junior Toad Slagle would nail the penalty kick to tie the game at 1-1. After a final nine minutes of play, the game would go to overtime where Catholic was able to score in the first minute. #? fired a rocket shot which hit the keeper in the chest and bounced away. #? was there to crash in and follow with a chip shot into the net for the win and the COC small school championship. Bolivar’s record now stands at 12-7.
What a tremendous and gutsy effort by the Liberators who played 100 minutes plus pk’s the night before against a tough opponent in Nixa. To go another 81 minutes against a top ranked team was pretty impressive. Proud of you guys, enjoy your Wednesday off and let’s get fired back up for district opponent Aurora on Thursday. JV first @ 4:30.
In JV action, the Liberators lost 0-1. A much better effort and performance than the previous night fellas. Keep working hard, there is still a few games left to get better and rack up some more wins. Bolivar JV stands at 6-4.
#10 for Nixa scored in the first half when a deflected corner kick went to him and he dribbled around a couple of defenders and passed the ball to the net past the keeper. The Liberators would tie the game in the 70th minute when Kyle Shoemaker found the ball sent in by Matt Magana on the corner kick. Kyle headed the ball down into the goal. The game would remain tied and go to penalty kicks. Nixa missed their first three pk’s while Toad, Bradley Stillwagon, and Mitchell Waters made the first three for the Liberators to get the big win over class 3 Nixa. Congratulations guys on a hard earned victory. Bolivar improves to 12-6.
The liberators looked REALLY good tonight, but just could not get the ball past the stingy Willard goalie. Willard scored in two in the second half, the first in the 48th minute by #14 and the second in the 70th minute from #6 (?) off a volley shot from a corner kick. Bolivar would control most of the possession and outshot Willard 20-5 with several near misses. Good clean game by both teams. The Liberators now stand at 11-6.
In jv action, Bolivar improved to 6-2 with a 2-1 win. Sam Wall and Kyle Carter got the goals for the Liberators.
